K9 Club Boarding Kennels are on an award winning working farm. They have cows and calves, horses, ponies and donkeys. The kennels are the main enterprise and consist of 8 heated kennels. Kennels are 12ft by 12ft and runs are 12ft by 12ft. Dogs are walked, around the 100 acre farm twice a day. Dogs are off lead but only with owner’s permission. Dogs must respond to their names as there are many distractions there. Deers graze near the 10 acres of Woodland situated on the farm and foxes and rabbits share the space too. The dogs are fed a high quality dry dog food called Husse. All individual tastes and requirements are catered for, but if you want to bring your own food, you may do so. They have a new Golden Years area for our older visitors. Some of their dogs are getting a little older and don’t want too much running now. They cater for their Golden Oldies with 3 shorter walks a day. They have a purpose built fully tiled, indoor area with heat lamps and heat pads for our smaller friends. All medication given as required. If you would like to come and talk to them and have a look around please ring or e-mail for appointment. They see visitors between 10-11 each morning including Saturday and Sunday. They would like to meet you and your dog/dogs before they come to stay, so the experience is a pleasant one for all involved. All dogs and cats must be fully vaccinated before they visit the kennels. Pens have both outside and inside area which varies in size, therefore they can accommodate for a number of cats for either a short or long term stay. Breed Specific Hand Scissoring & Breed Specific Hand Stripping A few important things to me: The longer you would like your dogs hair to be the more you need to comb it and the more often I need to see it. Never wash a dog with tangles/knots in its coat, these will shrink tighter as they dry leading to extreme matting. I do not like shaving coats off but I will not put a dog through the distress of being dematted. Coat will grow again. Sometimes the coat needs to be stripped off to start afresh and we can put a plan in place to avoid it happening again. I like my dogs to have a relaxing day at the groomers, I don’t expect them to stand on a table for long periods of time while I work on them. That is why they spend most of the day with me so that rest breaks are built into their stay. A first visit to me may cost a little more, it will totally depend on what condition of coat I am starting with or even behaviour.
Fotaview Dog Kennels based in Cork have been in operation for over 6 years. Our dog kennel facility lies on a working farm and we can accommodate both small and large dogs. All dogs are boarded individually in our kennels with an indoor sleeping area and outdoor run attached, although dogs from the same household may be boarded together in our kennels. There are two blocks of kennels. The first contains 11 kennels (8 regular sized kennels and 3 large kennels). In this block of our kennels, small to medium dogs and mixed pairs are housed. In the second block of our kennels, there are 9 dog kennels to accommodate large and extra large dogs. Dogs are bedded on either shredded paper or plastic beds with blankets. You are also welcome to bring your dog’s own bed, provided it is either waterproof or machine washable. Dogs are either walked or given a free run, depending on the quality of the individual dog’s recall while they stay at Fotaview dog kennels.
